Linus Schmidt, conceived in 2002, was born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. He spent his childhood acting and training in theater until 2018 when he took a class at the ICP school and learned basic photographic skills. From then on he began photographing the neighborhood he grew up in and working in the darkroom. He pursued his interests further at FIT where he earned a BFA in Photography and Related Media. He has begun showing his work in galleries and continues to work on a variety of personal and professional projects. He is open to all collaborations as he continues to work in the fine art and editorial world.
Linus is also the founder of Komorebi, a multimedia design studio that focuses on playing card design and cardistry. Cardistry is loosely defined as the art of card shuffling, an act devoid trickery and explanation. He has been producing decks and other home goods products since 2020. Komorebi has also sponsored and headlined several global conventions such as Cardistry Con and Cardistry Experience. We plan to continue to spread cardistry and encourage human connection while producing quality products and videos.
